Scorton Church of England Primary School is set in the heart of the village of Scorton, attracting pupils from the village but also from the surrounding areas of Barnacre, Catterall, Galgate and Forton. We are very lucky to be situated in the Forest of Bowland which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Our school environment is fantastic and our woodland nature area, pond, multi-use games area and well resourced playground provide a wealth of opportunities for our children.
We count ourselves very lucky to be a small school. We are able to offer an environment that fosters empathy and positive well being in a way that a large school never could. Our pupils have a very strong sense of connection and we really are a school family. Our small classes allow us to truly tailor learning to meet individual needs, making sure our learners are challenged but feel safe and supported. Unlike larger schools, we can organise fun, hands on learning opportunities quickly and easily and the children's interests can really shape the direction our curriculum takes.
