As musicians, we listened to and appraised the piece of music ” Mars” by Gustav Holst. We noticed how the dynamics and tempo changed within the piece of music. ” When the music gets faster, it makes me feel like something scary is going to happen!”
Orla’s mum came in to play “Mars” on her violin. She showed us how the musicians in the orchestra use the wood of the bow to make a special sound effect. We then composed our own space themed compositions, using different parts of the instruments for different effects.
